As we approach the third year of the pandemic, we all wonder what is next due to its unpredictable nature.<\/p>\n<p>The extensive rate of vaccination in 2021, the relaxation of restrictions and the EU&#8217;s Covid19 digital certificate, set a basis for the revival of tourism form the months of summer and autumn, but was soon cut short by the appearance of the new variant, Omicron, at the end of the year, which reinstalled mobility restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-7887 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newcomhorizons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/grafico-300x152.png\" alt=\"gra\" width=\"681\" height=\"344\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.newcomhorizons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/grafico-300x152.png 300w, https:\/\/www.newcomhorizons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/grafico-768x389.png 768w, https:\/\/www.newcomhorizons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/grafico.png 980w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 681px) 100vw, 681px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Despite all this, we are beginning to see hopeful signs of recovery in the sector, as shown by the recent agreement reached by the <span style=\"color: #00d3f3;\"><a style=\"color: #00d3f3;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.preferente.com\/rss1\/hito-en-la-ue-acuerdo-para-reabrir-la-frontera-exterior-316052.html\">27 member states of the European Union to stop requesting COVID-19 tests or imposing quarantines on vaccinated tourists.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to the latest available data from the &#8220;European Tourism Trends &amp; Prospects Q4\/2021&#8221; report, they foresee a recovery, predicting that<span style=\"color: #00d3f3;\"> <a style=\"color: #00d3f3;\" href=\"https:\/\/etc-corporate.org\/reports\/european-tourism-2021-trends-prospects-q4-2021\/\">travel demand in 2022 will be only 20% lower than pre-pandemic levels, driven by domestic and intra-European trips<\/a>.<\/span> They believe that <span style=\"color: #00d3f3;\">short-distance trips<\/span> will be key to Europe&#8217;s recovery, especially destinations accessible by car from large issuing markets such as Germany.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The positive mindset of travellers will boost this recovery, as we are all looking forward to going back to normality and lost travel experiences, and proof of this is that &#8220;<span style=\"color: #00d3f3;\"><a style=\"color: #00d3f3;\" href=\"https:\/\/mediacentre.easyjet.com\/story\/15337\/brits-planning-spending-sprees-on-more-holidays-in-2022-as-easyjet-sees-bookings-boosted-following-removal-of-testing\">British citizens say they plan more holidays than usual in 2022 and will spend more money on holidays than ever before<\/a>&#8220;<\/span>, according to a recent survey by the airline EasyJet.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Airline forecasts are more conservative, with Eurocontrol expecting <span style=\"color: #00d3f3;\"><a style=\"color: #00d3f3;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eurocontrol.int\/sites\/default\/files\/2022-01\/eurocontrol-think-paper-15-2021-review-2022-outlook_0.pdf\">air traffic to recover to 70-90% of 2019\u2019s levels this year<\/a><\/span>. In addition to watching how the pandemic evolves, airlines have to deal with the current risks, which hinder its development, such as the sharp increase in fuel prices and supply shortage.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What is certain is that <span style=\"color: #00d3f3;\">resuming travel between Europe and the United States<\/span> after November 2021 and <span style=\"color: #00d3f3;\">the resurgence of MICE tourism, which expects congresses to reach pre-pandemic figures<\/span>, will help to boost this recovery, according to experts from CESAE Business &amp; Tourism School.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>2022 will be an essential year for tourism, marked by <span style=\"color: #00d3f3;\">new alliances and mergers of tourism groups,<\/span> creating stronger tour operators adjusting to this new environment. And with the measures carried out by the markets to promote the industry, fostering <span style=\"color: #00d3f3;\">safe European tourist destinations that will enhance travellers&#8217; trust<\/span>.
